So close, so bleeding close.
My boy had a backstage pass, and aside from the evil security dudes and the fact I’d purposely left my jacket there, I coulda got in, but there was something about a party…. I dunno, it never happened. But at least D got to meet him and shake his hand (which I later told him never to wash) They said words like “Far Out” and “Trippy” and compared eachothers facial hair. Livin the dream baby livin the dream.

Oh I might add another friend was backstage and sat in a different room the whole time…like hello???

She’s a poet, a pirate, a rare beauty and a fantastic shopping companion.

Dan is a duuude!!

We met through a fella who I had a wild torrid affair with, it didn’t last but my friendship with Dan did. We came together for a love of poetry and music and other generally creative doings, and I tried (rather unsuccessfully) to set him up with a few of my lady friends. I introduced him to Absnasm because she wanted to sing and he wanted to work with a strong singer, so we spent the next few years in and out of flats with cats and pubs and hubs being creatively drunk and attempting to take over the world.

We’ve collaborated on a few projects including an exhibition and some music, and I’m desperately trying to work with him again some time soon.

We live on opposite sides of the same city, settled down a bit, got loved up a bit, I got a cat, and am in the process of convincing his lovely girlfriend to get one too.

We don’t see nearly enough of eachother and once I get my arse into gear and buy a big oak dining table, he and his lady are soooo coming over for some grub.

Paperfaerie Rocks! Papaerfaerie inroduced me to Absnasm.

I met her over 6 years ago through a mate of mine who was her boyfriend for a while. We clicked instantly and have been friends ever since!

We started out awstruck by the acoustic music, comedy and poetry scene in Newcastle. We endeavored to get involved, become a part of it and ended up running bits of it!

We have been involved in various artistic collaborations, some actually sucessful! Her poetry is on a number of my electronica tunes.

We have both settled down with our respective partners and have not collaborated for a while – but we will be back!!

When I was single Paperfaerie took me out on some incredibly lairy nights out with her girlfriends. She has set me up with some fantastic dates and generally been an inspiration to me in art and enthusiasm about life!

Paperfaerie has even got some of my poetry published!

I didn’t spend a lot of time with her but she is just as sweet as I imagined. She is certainly very piratey and has a great sense of style.

We had a really great time, laughing and talking and we didn’t even talk about art or the White Stripes which I know we both love.

Hopefully we’ll meet again and organise some piracy.

No look at that picture, isn’t it pretty and perfect and brilliant? Headapollo is a dashing young man who Absnasm brought to lunch one hungover Sunday, he’s smart and funny and outgoing and even joined in a few songs Absnasm would normally sing to herself because I never remember lyrics very well and usually just sit there like a constipated goldfish, luckily for me Headapollo saved me from this grace. He gets my approval all round (like he needs it..well he does a bit!!) and I hope to be spending more lunches learning the true origin of Greggs pasties and listening to dub stylee Pink Floyd with him again, as I’m sure he’ll be hanging around the slums of Bensham, Gateshead a whole lot more.

A woman that longs for swashbuckling adventures on the high seas? Who wouldn’t be intrigued?

Paolo was there waiting at the station with Agent99 when I turned up all a fluster wondering round trying to find them, and there he was giving me a shy hello, as I spyed him sitting at a table, not sure if it was him or a stranger wondering why I was staring at him so intently, he was ever so ever so ‘proper’ as Agent 99 would say, a real gent, who put up with three of the most excitable girls the world has ever seen. He even offered me his jacket when it started to pour, my boy doesn’t even do that, I usually have to grab it off him. We went for food, some sight seeing and drinks afterwards too, it was so lovely to meet him, and learn all those great facts, he really is a real clever gent.
